MANAGING DIRECTOR

Paul Aitken

Paul is a highly experienced senior director with over 40 year’s extensive experience in the Power Generation Industry.

After initially training as on Electrical Engineer he set up a Power Generation control Panel Company that completed projects around the UK & globally including Syria, Lebanon, Turkmenistan, Pakistan & Algeria.

After 20 years owning and running two successful companies from start-up, Paul was headhunted to join a market leader within the Power Generation Industry as Commercial Director, to strengthen the management team. With the task of returning the business to sustainable profitability and providing a platform for future growth, whilst achieving targeted market share and implementing major projects to add to the company’s prestigious portfolio.

This again led Paul to securing and implementing multimillion-pound prestige turnkey Power Generation projects both in the United Kingdom and worldwide (Angola, Tanzania, South Africa, Philippine’s & China).

As Managing Director & Owner of GMI Power Solutions Paul will strategise & implement the company’s growth, to ensure the company achieves its mission and objectives.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Philip Starr

Philip began working within the Generator Industry in 35 years ago, following a career as an Engineer Officer in the Merchant Navy.

Starting in the generator service sector he soon became a Depot Manager and moved from Generator Service into Technical Sales. This led to an increasing involvement in predominantly large and quite complex generator installations including associated fuel storage and transfer systems as well as noise attenuation and advanced generator controls and remote monitoring.

In recent years, Phil has been very involved in the supply of suitable generators to clients participating in the National Grid Capacity Market and has now undertaken the supply and installation of very many hundreds of generators and control systems for STOR (Short Term Operating Reserve).

As Technical Director with GMI Power Solutions Phil will continue to assist clients whilst technically overseeing the implementation of all projects across the UK.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Adrian Kemp

Adrian has over 35 years’ experience in the industry. He has fulfilled numerous roles within his 25 years from an engineer, workshop manager, department manager, technical and warranty manager and Managing Director, nearly all with the same company.

Throughout his time as Managing Director he oversaw a Management Buyout of the company, acquisition of a Service business and tripling the company T/O and opening 3 new additional depots.

Adrian spent over 12 years managing a major dealership in West Africa being responsible for technical support & training of their engineering teams.

He has vast experience with Health & Safety and has implemented & managed ISO 9001 & 14001 at previous companies & now at GMI Power Solutions together with Safe Contractor & Constructionline Gold.
